How It All Began
From a young age, I've loved all things polka dot. When I took my first official sewing class in Jr. High School, the teacher picked out which patterns we could sew as a group. I remember two friends in the class made their dresses in polka dots. The fabrics were the same only the color of the dotted swiss was different. Remember dotted Swiss? It used to be readily available but now it's nearly a vintage fabric. I run across it once in a while.
I pretty much love polka dots on everything from ponchos to purses to hats to lingerie. Then last night on Dancing With the Stars, Shawn Johnson and her partner wore giant polka dots to do the jive. (See embedded video). I'd love to make a dress like that for my daughter.
In the 70's my favorite pair of bell bottom pants were dark purple with flocked red polka dot hearts. Sweet.
Polka dots also look adorable on babies and little girls. I'm sure http://www.etsy.com has a plethora of polka dots to buy made by artists. Just use their search engine for things tagged polkadot, polka dots, or dots.

I love them too!!! I have many hens, not real of course, with polka dots.... My husband and I also make wood signs and birdhouses, which we readily adorn with these happy little dots! Thanks for the smile!!!
That makes me laugh Montana. I have such a thing for chickens. I'm just about to open an Etsy shop online just for chicken art. Well, chickens, owl, penguins and other tweeters.

What a performance - I've bookmarked THIS Hub! No wonder you like polka dots. People of the swing and jitter bug era LOVE this stuff. And so do I. The polka dots really fit the dance and remind me of another era - more smiles :)
