Time to say Goodbye to 2006

This year is almost over. It certainly had its trials and tribulations for me.

On the good side, I think I've finally figured out how to earn at least minimum wage on the Internet. That has been my goal for years because if you can have an income that isn't dependent on living in a big metropolis, you can basically move anywhere that still has Internet access without losing your income. You are no longer tied geographically to any particular city or state. And you can travel and use Internet Cafes to keep in touch with your readers or your blogs or what have you.

Of course I've won some money on Hub-pages, but that is only temporary as the contest will end eventually. I hope there will come a day where they can pay their regular writers.

But I have also made money on my lot:

http://www.mylot.com/?ref=auburndreams and I just signed up for Associated Content http://www.associatedcontent.com/fzh and I've been a member of Constant Content http://www.constant-content.com/about/1/ and though I haven't done much with it, you can set your own price for each article and decide if you want to sell it once or many times. The one article I sold there netted me $78. Not too shabby.

For once, all those creative writing classes may be paying off.

Also, this year my younger daughter got married. I thought my older daughter would too, but she's pushed her wedding date into next spring. So I have that to look forward to.

I also started teaching crafts at Michael's in Nov. Unfortunately that's been slow going because of the holidays. I really expect things to pick up once the new year starts and people recover from their New Year's hangovers.

And I have a brand new website up at running called Gourdmania at http://www.gourdmania.com/. I've been talking to OldBuddy about making E-books to sell on my website, so stay tuned for that.

Lately I've been so focused on the Idea Bank Contest I haven't had time to just write good ole hubs to my friends on hub-pages. So I hope this catches you all up on what I've been doing lately.
